Day Ninety-one

April 1, 2010

After yesterday’s post I was really trying to think of good ideas using snow. I took some pictures of a cactus covered in snow, and then some new flowers creeping through snow. To be honest, it was all really boring and a little depressing. So at about ten o’clock I had an idea. Here I have some new studio lights, but I haven’t really used them. I had one idea that I’ll probably use later, but it required a model and my brother-in-law wasn’t answering his phone. So this was my back up plan. And I have to say, it turned out pretty well.

I love it. Could also be the surprise in a birthday cake who had to sneeze before it was his turn to jump out of it. Some sort of cream pie.

That is totally awesome Travis. Ha! So…. you covered yourself in a snowball? Did you use a remote on your camera? Tell us about it. Way cool.

And I love it that we can only see your one eye!

Ok so I had my camera on a tripod with the timer on it. Then I had an AlienBee 800 at full power to the left of the camera. Then my 580 exii behind me also set to full power. I would push the button and run to the tramp and start jumping. I’ll have to share some of the other shots but this one was my favorite. Post production consisted of removing a little bit of the fence in the background but thats about it.

Ohhhhhh. You’re on the trampoline. Got it. Makes sense for my eyes now. :)

I wish I could have been in your backyard watching these pictures being taken. I somehow imagine it being funny. Very cool though.
