My kids are so great. They teach me so many lessons in life. For example, The times when I feel like they are being difficult and trying, are the times when I’m being selfish and putting my wants before theirs. This morning I had a lot of stuff I wanted to do. Sledding wasn’t really on that list. Thankfully we decided to do something they might want to do instead. We got the kids all bundled up, both resembling Ralphie’s little brother from The Christmas Story, and went sledding. Not only did we have fun be we were able to see the side of our son that we love so much. He was sweet, funny, and independent. We would crash at the bottom of the hill and just lay there for a minute till I would hear him say, “uhhh I’m dead.” I would then say, “me too.” He would start giggling and grab the rope of the sled and drag it, by himself, all the way back up the hill. I was sad to tell him that it was time to go get some food but he took it like a champ. Especially when he found out there was a Rootbeer freeze from Hires in it for him.
