Day Two Hundred Seven

July 27, 2010

Something about a fire and s’mores really helps me unwind.

Not a very epic day for Day 200, just another day at Target.

Day One Hundred Eighty

Admit it my kids are cuter than yours.

I wish I liked sugary syrup on shaved ice. At least these guys do.

I woke up this morning and ran 6.5 miles. Then I changed into my “working in the yard” clothes and got started. I didn’t stop till the new retaining wall was finished. I told the kids I would take them for a ride in the wheel barrow as soon as I was finished. Promise kept.

I really wanted to write a long post about how much I love my children, and how I don’t understand how some children can be born into situations like poor Ethan Stacy. If you haven’t read his story, you need to. His story hit home for me on many levels. Ethan was about my son’s age and my son’s name is Ethan. Every time I look at my son I think, “how could someone hurt such a sweet, innocent child.” Please read his story, and love the children in your lives.

Day Eighty-two

March 23, 2010

I’m so proud of my little buddy. We have had his cape and mask hung up in the bathroom for months waiting for him to use the potty. Today he became consistent enough that we let him take it down. I don’t think I have ever seen him so happy. I was pretty excited too, because I love seeing him run around the house saying, “I’m Batman” in the deepest voice he can muster. The underwear he is wearing is even batman underwear. Sadly the store only had size 6 so we had to roll them up a bit. Tonight is the first night that he is going to bed without a diaper. Wish him luck.
