I have been reading a book that has been really exciting. Its called Born To Run. If you are at all interested in running you should read this book. This book has inspired me to start integrating some barefoot running into my normal routine to help strengthen my lower body. Since its very difficult on your feet to go from 27 years of wearing shoes to running barefoot, I picked up these goofing hippie looking shoes to help the transition. I did a couple short jogs tonight to try them out and it was very interesting. My form changed completely and I’m using muscles which have been dormant for years. I don’t see myself running a half marathon with these anytime soon but I am excited that I didn’t feel any pain from my knee or back during those short runs.

April 16, 2010Day Ninety-five
April 5, 2010On my way home today, I drove past a group of hoodlums riding their scooters around the neighborhood. I laughed and remembered being that age and thinking how cool I was. I had a homemade tank top riding my Huffy bike.
I asked to take their picture and this kid knew exactly what to do. I didn’t have to direct him at all. His hood went up and his bad boy expression locked in. After I got my winning picture, I asked to see some of their sweet tricks. They each tried to do a “tailwhip” with meager results. “Man, I wish our other friend was here, he can do awesome tailwhips.” one of them said. I ensured them I was already impressed with what I had seen, and left them to keep practicing.
Day Eighty-four
March 25, 2010Day Seventy-three
March 14, 2010Today was a nice long sunday, filled with family and fun. We all got together for my little brother’s mission farewell. He is leaving for the MTC a week from Wednesday. He gave an awesome talk and we are all proud of him.
My wife is going to kill me for this picture. Like most women she hates having her picture taken but even more so when she is pregnant. I think she is beautiful and am proud to show her off. Besides beauty I think she is smart, creative and a great mother. Taryn I love you so please don’t kill me for posting a picture of you on my blog.
P.S. I’m not saying this because I’m in trouble or anything, I just think it needed to be said.
Day Thirty-three
February 2, 2010Day Fifteen
January 15, 2010While walking around again downtown, I met someone I’ve seen on trax about a million times. I’ve always found it weird that we see some people almost everyday and yet never take the time to ask their name, or even say hello. Like I said I have seen Eva on trax many times, but this time I decided to say hello and ask her name. Eva is a nice lady that works for a lead generating company finding prospective clients for real estate agents. Thanks Eva for taking time to stop and talk to me, and for being willing to have your picture taken.
Day Ten
January 10, 2010Sick Day.
Both my kids and my wife caught a cold this weekend and are a boogery bunch. I rarely get sick, and have so far “lucked out” again.
I took a bunch of pictures of my Sweet Pea today sitting by the window, probably longing to get out and go sledding again.
I decided to spare you all from the pictures with boogers all over her face. Although I would argue to say, that she can even make boogers look cute.
Day Eight
January 8, 2010Walking around downtown I asked a handful of people If I could take their picture and I guess my approach needs some tweaking, because everyone one said they would rather not. Then I saw Amy walking down the street she just had a big smile on her face and seemed approachable. Without hesitation she said sure in a bubbly voice. Apparently I stopped her a few steps outside of her apartment building. She told me all about how beautiful it is, and how much she loves living downtown in the middle of everything. While talking to her, her friend pulled up and she needed to take off. My goal for the next person I stop, is to find one that isn’t in a hurry. Thanks again Amy.
